Subject: High Liver Enzyme Levels Name: dawn Jaeger Date Posted: Jan 18, 09 - 8:16 PM Email: Click here to Email Message: My son had a procedure last week to change out his G/J Tube because of some wretching and he seems agitated lately. We are not sure why and he has been moving around alot. While under we ran a blood panel and his GI called me to tell me his liver enzyme levels were over 4 times the normal limit. I haven't talked to our neurologist yet but wondered if anyone knows what this means and what to do about that. I am not sure if this is why he seems so bothered or what to do.

My son gets his liver enzymes checked every 4 months because depakote can damage the liver. So, I can't say for sure what a high enzyme level means for your son but I know that if Clifford's level's came back high we would have to get him off depakote ASAP. So, I would call your neurologist right away. Also, I believe some psych meds can also cause liver damage. If your son takes any of these through a dr other than your nuero you should call that dr as well.
