Message: Our son used to grind his teeth very bad. The school therapists gave him this rubber tubing stuff. We called it his chewy. Whenever he grinded his teeth we would give him that, it helped. Hope this helps.

Message: Hi Eric. Our daughter Isla, who is almost 3 with infantile batten disease, started grinding her teeth about 6 months ago. She went through a phase of doing this very frequently, but this passed in a few months and now she only does rarely. It didn't seem to bother her, but was quite hard to listen to as we were always worried she was going to hurt herself or damage her teeth. An Association for the Blind therapist suggested that children who are visually impaired can sometimes do this as a sensation-seeking mechanism. Hopefully like Isla this will pass fairly soon for Hayden too.
