When we had the study done Abby didn't want to drink the liquid and got pretty upset. They tried pudding but by that time it was too late for any cooperation. The technician was forcing the liquid into her mouth with a large syringe which caused much gagging and retching - if I had thought to take a sippy cup or something she was used to using we might have had some success.

Also we have had it done in the hospital without radiology with just the speech path looking at the swallowing. They really can tell a lot that way. I had a barium type test myself and cannot see my son very cooperative with it. They food was pretty tastelee. Martha
