Message: We use a pulse oximeter during the night and we have noticed that our daughter is getting blisters from it on her fingers. We try switching the finger each night, but one night on the finger (7-9 hours) cause a blister. Are there any tricks to protect her skin and still get a reading? We can move the location every couple of hours through the night, but I hate to stir her up that often. Any thoughts???

1. Loosen the tape.
2. Attach the cord to the wrist.
3. Try the big toe.
4. Make sure there isn't some weird malfunction in the probe causing heat to build up, a heat blister.

Message: My son is currently in the Hospital (has been since July 1st), so I have just been introduced to the Pulse-Ox thing myself. It keeps coming off his finger because he sweats so bad. They put it on his toe for a while, but also had good luck putting on the Ear Lobe. That seems to work great.

Message: First thing: Check to make sure its not a bad connect, usually they do not heat up to the point of blistering. Change out the probes, I am assuming you are using the ones that can wrap around the finger, call your health care supplier and order some new ones- Even though you do not want to stir just think of it in avoiding any lind of ouchies on her fingers. Of course, using the toes is good. Good luck and God Bless
