Has anyone experienced their child living in fear? Every noise, every sound, every person speaking outside, or laughing or the sound of basketball or a police siren or an airplane, or someone's air conditioner can send her into complete shaking and utter fear. In the morning its fine by 1 in the afternoon, complete withdrawal from reality, whispering, shaking, shaking staring, you cannot leave her side. I do not know what to do, xanax for the anxiety, but what else, explaining every noise, where it is what it is etc. not working. Any advice or if anyone will share would be great!

I am so sorry. My son went through a fear stage right after he lost his sight but not as bad as you describe. His hearing got way better and he could hear everything. Once a person lose one sense their other senses get strong. Has she had a change in her sight? The doctor put my son klonipin and it helped.

Hello, He was 8 when he lost his sight completely. He is now 12. My son still has panic attacks if we get into a large crowd or a surrounding he is not familiar with but does fine at home.

My son often has scary hallucinations just prior to seizing. It usually happens as he wakens from sleeping but occasionally while awake. It is scary to watch but also just part of the process. With him, it seems to be a matter of constantly adjusting his anticonvulsants to prevent breakout seizures. I hope that your neurologist can prescribe a course of treatment that will alleviate your daughter’s anxiety.

Hi, that's interesting, because now that I am doing some research on line, I am wondering if my daughter is having Atypical Absence Seizures, of course when the dr, finally calls back I will ask, the hallucination came right after that. Thank you for your input, every bit helps with this Battens Monster. Bests to you!
