Hello again, Isaiah has started to get these red blotches that appear all over his body they come and go and his face will turn red. He only gets cranky he does not scratch at them and they are hot to the touch but maybe only last 15 to 30 min. When I first started noticing them it was when he would get out of the bath so I changed soaps and even made him take cooler baths didn't help. Now he is getting them more and more. He is not eating anything different and there has not been any change in anything else. I have started taking pictures so I can show the doctor and he had blood work last week done. I was just wondering if anyone has gone through this or had any idea what it could be?

Hello, my 13 y/o has the same problem, and has been doing this for two or three years. We also have sweating problems, mostly on the face. My neuro says that it is either a racing heart, (so we checked her pulse when this would happen, and that was not it), or most likely that the system in her brain that regulates her temperature is out of wack from cell loss, and is thinking she has a temperature when she does not. We run a fan on her face now constantly, and that helps some, but we still break out in red hot patches, mostly face and arms, sometimes legs, mostly on the right side. It varies on how long they last. Rach does not seem to mind most times, so I stopped worrying about it.

Thank you, Isaiah does get sweaty and his face will get red like he has just came in from running outside in the sun. Other times his feet and hands will get like he had put them in ice and turn blood red. The doctor said the hand and feet are from poor circulation. I don't know red and hot in some areas and then be like an ice cube in other areas.

Our daughter used to get crazy red hot ears, sometimes around the same time each day. Our neuro always thought that it was due to some kind of seizure activity, although that theory was never proven..............

Hello all, My daughter has noticed a pattern with the red blotches problem. Isaiah seems to get them when he is having a panic attack or he gets upset. I have been checking his whole body after he has one and she is right it occurs after attack or being upset. I will be talking to the Neurologist and psychiatrist about this.
Thanks again, Teresa

When my daughter was hospitalized from a bad reaction to generic keppra, she got these weird red blotches all over her, but it was when she was upset in the ER. Not because of the allergic reaction. It was weird. Also, after a shower she has always complained of being itchy and the water when it beats on her makes some red blotches.
