OUr son Nicholas 15 has junvile battens he is on a low dose of lithium and is hallucinating really bad i read some the internet that lithium causes this does anybody have any advise he is also on depakote and buspar twice a day and also ambieum to help sleep thanks for any help.

I'll be curious what you hear back. Our Nicholas (7) just started on Lithium Monday, no side affects yet.

I found this journal article which talks about the use of lithium, but I am unable to access the document because a subscription is needed. It was written by Dr. Rose-Mary and Dr. Pauline Philipek.
Dr. Boustany is the chair of the Medical Advisory Board. Maybe you could send her an e-mail to see what her thoughts are?

Our son has now been on Lithium about 2 weeks. And things are really improving. We did have to add Klonopin for hallucinations, but now those have ended and we finally have our happy son back! We are so thankful!
